well the dicussion in the other thread kinda jacked the thread, so i decided to start another topic. what do you guys think is in the future for boats as far as fuel economy/resource goes? companies are definitely going to have to start doing something about it, because gas is jacking up all across the country and it's not looking to recede anytime soon. with prices jumping up so high, people aren't going to be able to afford gas for boats that get around 1.5 mpg.

Chris Barcellos, yeah man i've heard the same thing. gas prices in hawaii are supposedly cheap? maybe we should just go to the middle east under the disguise of marines and jack a few barrells of oil for ourselves Smile

We'll all have to ride behind jet-skis or winchs...which is okay by me.

me too...especially because of the affordability of gas with a ski. i've been looking into building a winch and that would be a pretty good idea too.

not bad at all. i just don't see how companies like mastercraft, correct craft, etc. will keep their sales up to the wake riding community if the boats' fuel economy stays as shiznackle as it is. granted, (around here at least), a lot of the people who own boats like that definitely have the money to pay for the gas, but not all.

that's what i've been wondering. the stations here call it a "convenience fee." f**k that. convenience for me is paying a dollar less at a gas station on my way to the river.

IMO most people that can afford 60k boat payments probably aren't that bothered by $200 gas bills for a weekend of riding.

i spend about 30 bucks to run my 90 hp all day. fvck it though, if the price per gal keeps going up... i'll still keep buying the shiit and riding all the time.
