product release dates

you know when a new car is released it is almost always slightly before the new year. a new 2009 model is usually available at the very latest around november. The new escalade hybrid(2009) is already available. Why is it that in the last few years almost every company has had delay issues and does not release it's next year's product til months into the new year? i understand that making their products in other countries and not helping the us economy is what most do- slingshot and a few boards, but i think they should get a little bit more on the ball about it. i might sound like im never satisfied from all my posts, but im just laying out the flaws in what i see. i still love skating and wakeboarding and would ride a piece of plywood if i had to

Is just hard to set specific dates when you get unexpected delays that force you to push back the release date unfortunately. There just trying to make the best possible board and don't want to release something they are unsatisfied with. Give' em a brake, if it weren't for them we all still would be riding a piece of plywood if we were lucky.

that's true, but it really bothers me that kent watersports own most big name board companies and sets control over how products are developed b/c they can't run each other out of business. it's like a legal monopoly and it drags down what the product really could be to some extent. prices are skyrocketing too

prices go up as demand goes up
and since wakevoarding and wakeskating are two of the most popular new things to do manufactures take advantage of the surge of people coming to the sport and jack up prices

mojo, it used to be that way in wakeboarding. I remember dave barousse received a 2003 4-trac from thomas in the fall of 02 and he had to shred it in the cool, cool waters. I cannot explain why the entire industry seems to have delayed things...but when you look at the wakeskates, things ALWAYS come up. You've got to roll with the punches!! ain't no one out tuh giit'cha! Wink
