I really want to build a winch, because buying one would probably be waay too pricy, but i really have no clue where to even begin.
Help? Confused

dude be careful, john at released is never available and he is too involved building stuff for "nike" to focus on consumer stuff. my winch is great now, after months and months of trouble and finally taking it to a motorcycle guy i found for some frame mods to make it stable. if this post gets removed i'm not going to be happy.

mojo, my winch is completly fine, i got it from them less than 2 months ago and it only took like 2 weeks to build and get it

I;m just gonna make everything from scratch, besides the engine.

im sure mine is probably very close to the same as yours. i got it quickly, but the throttle was messed up and it took forever for him to come fix it, still didnt work when i got it back a few weeks later, had to try all sorts of things and it wouldnt start now even though he'd used it. i had to threaten to call the police b/c he had my winch for over a month after i'd paid for it and it didnt work and he wouldnt return my calls or the people at bullet lines calls either for a long time.

mojo, your beef with released seems to be a fluke though ...i havent heared anything negative about them......but this is why i am a firm believer in DIY..if it didnt work its your fault...and if you really want to ride youll figure out how to fix it

mojo, hey reed, of course you come on here talking crap about john, poor kid isnt even on this site to defend himself. you forgot some main points to your winch problems... did you tell everyone that you didnt even know how to change your own spark plug, or even attempt to take the bowl off the carb to see if the jet was plugged. and if we are such bad people then why are you still buying stuff from us? i have your order for a wheel kit right in front of me. so go strap your wakeboard back on (if its not already) and use this time you have talked trash to go do raileys down some winch gaps.
