Im building my first winch soon with the help of my buds and following nekkie's instructions on tahitimx.com (thanks dude!) any way, i had my boss look at the plans and he brought up how to make it easyer for the person controling the winch to accelerate and decelerate, and i have zero experience with winch's so i was wondering what i should buy or do to this winch inorder to get maby a clutch.. im most likely completely wrong and theres some obvious answer to this so if any one has experience please help. _________________ othersideboardsports.com |

do you already have an engine? if so what hp? i don't have alot of experience with diff. winches, but my 6.5 w/ a torq a verter is way better than my buddies 13hp with a centrifical clutch. with the right gearing either works, but i'd go with a honda 6.5, tav, a skip tooth sprocket. i'll check mine to see what tooth and put it on tomorrow. the original throttle works nicely, just take the governer off and adjust the idle screw. _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be.
