So I'm not on the abuse team at the ISP I work for, but I do get bcc'd on their complaints because of my position. Well last week I saw an email come through from someone saying "hey congrats on owning the ip 69.69.69.69".
I didn't even realize that was one of our IP's. Naturally I couldn't leave a generic dns entry for that IP so it's been slightly modified. Do an nslookup on it. I also made sure that IP is reserved by our IP database so no customer will ever get it either. It shall live on in infamy!

Now the question is, how many people know what the h3ll I'm talking about? lol

Hyperlite_06Byerly, I think you misunderstood... I work for the ISP which owns the IP 69.69.69.69. We have literally millions of IP addresses allocated to our company from ARIN.
The IP 69.69.69.69 would have eventually been given to a static DSL user in the Clinton New Jersey Market based on the IP advertisements we have to our upstream carriers in that market. But let's say the glitch is fixed, so no ungrateful person shall grace themselves with that IP
