Sounds like you just need to let your knee heal and give it plenty of time.

It's not worth tearing it up where you might not be able to ride for a long time.

Try this:

I have been using the Asterisk braces. Best alternative I have found to the CTi2. And a whole lot cheaper. You can get a right and left for 600 or so or you can buy them individually. I got my MCL pretty bad about 4 months ago and thanks to these I havnt had to stop riding. I actually like them better than the CTi2. Look at btosports.com. They sell them there. And don't panic the patela guard is removeable, but comes in handy when riding rails a lot. They were originally designed for MX to prevent knee injuries from happing. They definately put the time and effort into designing them.

I'm currently riding with a innovation sports morph OTS brace. I did ACL,PCL, MCL all high grade. mcl has healed somewhat but acl and pcl are completly torn. Probably shouldnt be riding but this brace makes it all feel nice and solid. Definately recommend. With that said if youv'e "blown" your knee out twice recently maybe you need to rest and let it heal and go see a knee specialst or sports physician for there recomendation.

Bought my brace from here by the way http://www.cyclezoneinc.com/

As no stranger to knee injuries 3 = surgery my best advice to you is to see an orthapedic Dr. and fast. It will keep reoccuring unless you do something about it. THen it's Therapy , Therapy, Therapy with a good therapist and hard work you can completely rehabilitate your leg. Braces are good for getting your rehab on track faster, allowing you to do things you could'nt normally do. However you don't want them to act as a crutch by relying on them heavily without proper rehab or it will actually be more of a hindrance. Good Luck! Cti and Asterik can't go wrong with either!

I ride 2 Breg fusions I got from the doc they are the same braces you see nfl lineman wearing, all alum comstruction completely rebuildable, removable pads, after you get them adjusted you can hardly tell you are wearing them, they are custom built for each app. so no one size shiza. best part is insurance covers them and they only cost me about $50 a pop, i think they are about $600 each straight up. Ive had two sets of them over the last 4yrs they are by far the best braces i have ridden (* and CTi included those braces are just too bulky and limit your range of motion )

Donjoy Defiance

http://www.donjoy.com/index.asp/fuseaction/products.detail/cat/1/id/20

I got one of these after my acl reconstruction in 2002. The carbon fiber frame is custom fit to your leg. Only available with a prescription. It's expensive but should be covered under your insurance depending how good it is. I only paid $300. The regular price is in the thousands.

The CTI's were good. A little expensive but good. Since I have had my Asterisk I have not used the CTI's. The problem I had found with them was the pressure they put on your Femur when you take a fall that should have gotten a knee injury. I have a few of my old FMX friends that have actually had their femur break from these, and I don't know about you guys but I would definately rather have gotten a knee injury rather than a broken femur! And then Wakeskating is a lot different that MX.

If I could go back Id take a broken femur. Beats waiting 9 months after surgery.
