Alright, me and a friend are wanting to build a rail this winter and put it in the water this spring. It won't be a floating one, as the spot we're putting it in is only like 6 foot deep in the summer. So what's the best way to build it? This will be the first rail we hit, (Probably going to hit it on a wakeboard first) and so it needs to be an easy one. Maybe a flat rail? What's a good material for the part you actually slide on? And how do you make sure it stays in the ground?
Thanks

col101, You post to much.
You can still use PVC pipe. It works and costs less. |

i like to slide wood, but it can be a bit too slugish for many and has alotta friction. Artaficial decking, like veranda material would work nice. _________________ dbanana wrote:

Alright one more thing. I was thinking that we could make it where it had hinges, and make have a lock type thing for it to stand up when in use, and then when not in use, fold it into the water.. and throw trees over it so people know to stay away, but they don't know there's a rail. _________________ wake____ing=love/life |

I would do the metal poles, but they seem to be kind of expensive, i know i can probably find wood at a construction site they is scrap to make it work. _________________ wake____ing=love/life |

Alright guys, we've had a change of plans. It's now going to be a floating rail. Probably look like this /TTTTTT\ Just much less angles. I have no clue how to build this. Anyone got ideas? I can get the barrels i just don't know how to do it. I don't want it to be longer then 25 feet. I could also do it like this /TTTTT without a rail going down. 20 feet would be the best length. _________________ wake____ing=love/life |
