it's true. They scooped up a bunch of the old forum team (lauri, devun) and I can't remember who else is on. but those dudes are kitted out from head to toe in DC.
I'm looking forward to the new DC video. The mountain lab video was so sick and just had a good vibe to it, so...yeah. YEAH!!!
And still bastards. i think that one will be fun. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

Yeah, i've heard that DC/wakeboarding rumor and I don't know how accurate that is. I think at best, the two are sharing the same factory, but DC doesn't have anything to do with shaun murray's wakeboarding boot.
But again, that's internet fodder from wakeworld. But I trust that more than DC actually making the binding. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

hey, one other video is Airblaster's april. I found out about this only a few days ago. If you go to myairblaster.com there's a teaser at the bottom of the page, and the video is on sale for like 5.00 in the airblaster store. I bought it, just becuase that company is fun.
I also bought a flourescent green hat and an airblaster t that takes advantage of the old burton air logos.

meh, I don't get as bent out of shape anymore. Read the inside of their catalog. Yes, burton has grown a lot and is more manistreamy, but they started out as a grass roots company and built their way up. Furthermore (as their little piece of propaganda says), their growth has allowed them more resources to advance their product line, which is for the snowboarders who want it. I've heard that before--it's nice to be with a core company, but on the other hand, it's also nice to have the support to do what you want and not have the serious financial restrictions some of small companies may have (depending on where their money is coming from). And that's not coming from greed, it comes from some seriously creative and forward thinking people (or one in particular)...It's give and take...
I ride lib and they were bad to the bone and now they're owned by quik. But take a look at their creativity and what they still try to do with their snowboards. Plus, they still promote snowboarding as something fun and lighthearted. Best ad campaigns ever!
And fresh-out-of-the-box snap...
Same with DC. They started out small and the brand was built up by riders and legitimate people who loved to skateboard and snowboard--ken block was more of a snowboarder, and damon way helped start it as well. If you have a business mind...growth is a goal. It's given them one hell of a life and they haven't really sat back and given up on progression.
And I'm being sassy and don't take it personal, but I'm still leery of trusting a performance shop employee on that piece of info. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

electricsnow that was pretty well sad. when you look at it in that perspective. The companies with the most growth/money do put out some good videos and gear. And they also did help shape what snowboarding is today. That burton comercial for HP is realy a simple explanation of how snowboarding is were it is today.
But some people just buy shirts for shirts and don't now anything behind them which is what frustrates me sometimes
I ask this kid if he even new what SRH was cause he had there shirt on and he goes I don't now what it is. So why do you wear there clothes? I usually wear clothes of companies I support. Thats all im saying |

Yeeyee, Mervin is sick for sure. Gnu and Lib press all their own boards and do everything in their factories. They do so much tech stuff that's so different from everyone else.
And props to Simon Chamberlain. DC wanted him on the team, he was already on boots, but in order to be on the new team you have to rep the DC outerwear(I think) as well and Simon didn't want to leave Nomis. Now that's legit! |

Yeah, simon started nomis (simon backwards)...i think it would be retarded for him to leave his own company.
and actually, I heard mervin was moving some of their production overseas. I can't remember which lines went over because it's been awhile, but I don't think it's all done in the NW anymore. I think the TRS series was going to be done over there? I can't remember anymore, but it could be worth checking into.
But still, I love lib and gnu. LOVE THEM!
"Extreme" is mainstream. I'm coming from a different place, but at this point I've accepted that the look is accepted by those that dont' actually ride. If you don't like it, don't support zumiez, pac sun, or any of the faux skate shops. Support your local shop.. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

| I think it more pac sun than anything. I don't buy anything from there anymore. There aren't that many zumiez so..... But like in wakeskating the rider driven companies are the ones to support |

i just dont like how burton charges like $600 bucks for a snowboard, which probably will end up getting destroyed by the end of the season.
snowboards are probably so cheap to make, i dont like how burton rips you off so bad on everything.
i can't wait for nomis outerwear, its going to be so RAD! _________________ http://www.stickandflick.com

prices are a little and some of the $2,oo palmer snowbard
I think nike is tryiong to keep it a suprise design until they release the boot next year. Just look for dany kass and some of the other 6.0 snow team wearing them |

hahaha, yeah, that palmer board. Do you have the latest transworld? They have some funny blurb about it, like some crazy mystical creature builds them and they're comprised of pixie dust and angel tears, or something weird like that. I know I have it wrong, but i do have the gist of what you'll read. It made me smile, becuase on a quiet afternoon some years back, my mom had told me that I was made of pixie dust and angel tears, and it was then that I knew i was special.
Ahh, it's like anything. You dont' have to buy a 600.00 snowboard, and your average rider probably won't even benefit from them. Furthermore, I've heard they're quite rigid and not that awesome to ride (according to the guy who owns my local shop, who is reputable). But yeah...some people will buy it and keir dillon will be the one to rock it out. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

i know you can buy decent boards for under 400 bucks, but still burton charges too much.
Example:
There is a snowboard tool that costs 2 or 3 bucks and Burton sells the same tool for $12 with the burton logo on it. _________________ http://www.stickandflick.com
