What is it? I'm a noob and have seen it on the site a lot. I assume it's a wakeskate but what's the big deal?

wakeboarddrumma, it is the holy grail of wakeskates and only the few chosen may have one and if you are luck you may get to see one or 2 in person

well, I think it's a personal thing more than anything, so my reasoning behind why I think it's special may not necessarily be universal. part of why I identify with it is because it's an iconic piece of wakeskating history connected to a progressive time with an extremely special group of riders. You can identify that board at any angle, and it's especially cool to see a shot from above, where you also get a peek at that signature cassette grip tape job (with a line down the middle). Simply put, it's aesthetically pleasing.
After that, thomas, aaron and danny did some really amazing riding on that board, so it's hard to separate sfumato from this board...one goes with the other and both are equally captivating. Nobody really knew about danny and I definitely had no idea he had the flip collection he had at the time. all of those guys killed it on that board and brought wakeskating to a new level in the process. And even now, there are riders that can do most, if not all of the tricks they did in sfumato, but that period of time will never be replicated, and that's part of why that video will remain legendary and timeless.
As for riding, I was fortunate enough to ride a friend's board (thank you ) and I had one of my funnest days on the water. It was the first day I rode with them and I was riding my flat deck, which was cracked down the middle. After my first set, he let me ride his 4-trac so I wouldn't risk snapping my board and hurting a knee or something. Most of what I did consisted of stock ollies and shuvs, the feeling of that board for me is something I still remember. It popped really well and in order to figure it out, I had to kick that front foot forward a little bit more to level it. After that, it didn't get any more fun than that. thanks labellethrasher and skatefilly for an unforgettable day.
Anyway, other people think it just looks sick, others are nostalgic about cassette. Like I said, it's a personal thing more than anything...and right now people seem especially attached to the cassette wakeskates.

the cassette site has not been updated, so all you'll see is the 05 stuff. But you scroll over the various c logos and you click on them.
Wakeboarddrumma, I definitely have a 4 trac...

introducing so many things at once to something that is introducing itself to the world can be somewhat overwhelming.
it seemed from my standpoint, from an undergound wakeskate scene emerged an offspring that can be related closely to the inceredible hulk. yeah it's green, and we all know that, the color green.........well Thomas is probably the only one that know that. it's green like greenland on a warm late spring day. it shatters the boundaries of the waters beneath and around it. it is a fiznackling beast, her weight is epic, anybody and everybody that has one can vauge that this board is a mutha
ckin moviestar. she has got the 4-trac set up to lock in on nose and tail slides legitally. the 4-trac set-up is 2 fins side by side set about 3/4 from the bottom to the top. She has got the soft corners on the nose and a stiff tail that can make her go tall, her beveled rails make soul carving feel so nice and the graphic on the bottom are stunning. after seeing Sfumato...... aaron reed w2w kickflip on this joker about 5 years ago pretty much has scarred me with stokage for the rest of my life. Danny Hampson washed my brain and erased my memory when he did his w2w body varial remix.........and Tommy Ho laying her up on the first winch gap to show the size of the gate he had to clear before stickin the 4 foot drop..............word.
i wanted one so bad, i thought i would neverfind one, i looked........like in europe, that's when i saw my first one on the wall in this underground wakeskate shop like in amsterdamn, i was floored...........as I scrambled for some duckets.......i woke up anyway only a few days late a good man Brett Leadley gave me a lead on one still sitting in a shop in NJ, I got it mint for 150.....thankyou Brett. she has since left me after glorious years of rejoicement and good times to remain at the creek where I ride buried beneath the muck and the mudd consumed by sheer dirtiness, a diamond in the rough.......
