Nothing is less American than the Army-Navy game. Whichever side you pick, you're rooting against OUR boys. The Army and Navy squads should be combined, and they should play against teams from any other country, and instead of using footballs, they would use bomb-balls. And Air Force can do kickoffs.

Sports solve problems, such as how to get inner-city kids to spend $175 on shoes. They serve as a backdrop for some of the most memorable commericals. And they remain the one and only relevant application of math. Not only that, but we have sports to thank for most of the last century's advances in manliness. The system starts in school, where gym class seperates the men from the boys. Then those men are taught to be winners, or at least, losers that hate themselves.

I'd like to hear some more debate on why people think any of these franchise sports are a real importance to life. Im very close-minded on this subject so I'd like to hear some more input.

Haha I read this earlier..

"As a member of the Competitive Television Watching league, I have to tell you that watching tv is a lot harder than it looks. As a professional, the competition is intense! Why by the end of my match just last Saturday against the Newark Cough Potatoes, I was covered in sweat and cheese doodle crumbs! When the league switched to the new Couchlets, the competition became even more intense! With the every two hour bathroom breaks eliminated, the one time out becomes so much more important. It has had a real effect on strategy."

I think that team sports teach you how to deal with people you dont like, but have to be around them everyday.

I'm not gonna sit here and say sports are important to life or whatever, but I'm really into pro football and I dabble in college football just for the fact that it's entertaining.

Depends how you look at it.. how many people do you(or the average football fan) watch football with at your house? If you are entertained by it, then i respect that. Keep watchin' it. Don't listen to me I'm just an ignorant college student.

In no way am I talking down on football players and fans or saying what they do is wrong or stupid. I am simply asking what people see in it, to see their point of view. IN MY OPINION, I think most aspects that come with the sport are a joke. Especially from the spectator point of view. I think the players are ridiculously overpaid and ungrateful. I think that the money going into these franchises could go into a lot more important things in this country. I think it's hilarious that some people revolve their life around these sports teams when these players don't give a damn about them and would drop that team for an extra 2 million in a new city. I mean seriously, TO. Or any players that are going to hold out because they aren't making an extra 3 million for doing a 8 second sprint. I think it's crazy how some of these guys are going through the nicest colleges in the country taking dance classes to stay on a team.

Whatever, call me a commy, non-american, ignorant, whatever. American football is a joke.

[/haterade] haha.
