how to measure rocker?

how do i measure the rocker? i thought i was supposed to lay the board on a flat surface and measure from the ground to the tip of the board and measure how much of a rise the rocker gave.

i tried it and the 484 board sounded about right but according to my oak measurement the team machine has only like 1.5" of rocker which they say they have 2.25", so im doing something wrong. I guess ill try it on my vinyl.
