Hey, a buddy of mine is looking to purchase a new still camera, anywhere under 1000. he will be doing mostly action shots (mainly snowboarding) and i was wondering if anyone could tell me what the best camera for that price range is?
Thanks,

| Used 20D for $5-600, then start saving for glass, good glass is a very important part of the equation that most beginners avoid. You can probably get a used 30D for under a g, but will have little left for glass. |

For wake you don't need the 2.8. the f4 will do fine. the 2.8 is great but twice as much and twice as heavy, and the only advantage is on stop of light. I would go for the f4IS over the 2.8 nonIS. of course if you can afford it get the 2.8IS at $1600 and start hittin the gym |
