I'm sorry to hear that. We have never sold a winch rope to anybody by that name.

You can also lookup the weight of the shipment from when you sent the winch, and compare it to the weight of when it was returned. You will find that the shipment will be 10 lbs less than when it was sent back.

What he did is a form of mail fraud, and is a felony. I would call UPS and get a written statement from them: which is basically going to say you are absolutely nuts. I would then file a mail fraud report with his local police department over the phone. Get the report from UPS, my statement saying we have never sold him a rope, and the weight difference between when the winch was shipped and returned.

I would tell the kid you have already contacted Bullet Lines, and that we said we have never sold a rope to him. If he wants, he can give us a call direct 254-731-9269.

Find out which forums he is posting on, and publicly bash him for stealing your rope.

I think everyone on here should shut the fu.ck up. It's none of our business unless you were a personal friend of one of the parties.

After reading this I'm more than likely done trading here(of course, after I ship my winch parts to the buyer). There's just too big of a risk of getting trolled. The mods don't seem to give two sh.its about the classifieds.

Threatening that your parents have money just makes you look like a 10 year old that doesn't know how the gears of reality turn.

I can at least see that UPS has a LOT to do with this. UPS(and Fedex not too far behind) are notorious for screwing packages up. The rust I don't really understand but can believe that the dents are from UPS poor abilities to do their job.

I think this thread should be deleted, period. Everyone else dropping off their two coppers has no business in this. Trust me, you're not contributing to anything. You know just as much as the next Joe does.

TAD, I feel sorry for both parties here, this kind of thing sucks. I think it's in poor taste to try and get donations/hand outs due to what's happened. When participating in online transactions, you face this. It happens, a lot.

I'm not siding with either party because I don't have enough information than anyone else on here unless you actually know the person(s).

The donation statement wasn't serious, I really just wanted my line back. I planned on having UPS cover the damages in the first place, so I wasn't too worried about the winch itself. I think it is everyone's business on the forums so they know what the community is turning into. You yourself just said you are done trading on here after reading this. So obviously it is getting to some people. I admitted to all of my mistakes, read the title of the thread. This is merely a warning to fellow riders to be careful and I made the thread to set an example. This thread shouldn't be deleted or else it will just happen again.

In my opinion, common sense will keep most people safe when buying/selling online.

Even though most people haven't heard about that site it is however used by many bigger sites that have classified forums.

I don't even feel comfortable buying from people on here unless they're willing to ship first/cross ship. If they don't want to then that's fine with me, I can buy new elsewhere and be assured of what I'm getting.

do what i did when it traded. Have the person meet you at a ups store at the same exact time, call ahead of time to let the employee working that day that someone is coming in and ask their name. Then when the person you are trading with arrives you can verify that it is the right location and that its not someones friend you are talking to but the person you talked to earlier. Then over the phone get the tracking number. MAKE SURE YOU GET INSURANCE!!!!!!!! then with ups for $10 you can have a package returned if things go south.

For instance with this sale, have the buyer pay ahead of time for shipping costs, then ship the winch, if the buyer doesnt pay for the winch in full one day prior to delivery then you simply call ups and have them return it to you. Therefore, you are not out of money, and you can get your winch back.

Like TAD mentioned it IS good that this is being posted because it is giving fair warning to others out there thinking of doing transactions online. Personally i never really thought about somthing like this happening, especaily on a sight such as this, where i feel its more like a family. Now if i ever have to do somthing such as this i will think twice, and probly consider goride's plan of attack, because that sounds alot more legit and probly would have saved you guys a WHOLE lot of trouble. But non the less, this is a forum, and it is made for DISCUSSION, and that is souly what we are doing, discussing what is going on in this matter, may it be out bussiness or not, it still our right to talk and read about it. tad listen, i just got a hold of ken at bullet lines and he will be sending u an email and transaction of when i bought my bullet lines from him, if u look in my post of when i finished my winch it was in the beggining of the summer. and that when i bought my lines from him, and if u see the picture that i posted of where i was selling it was the same picture from the beginning of the summer with the 600 ft of line that i PAID 225 dollars shipped. but i am sending u my line off my old winch, i hope this helps..... again KEN will be emailing u all the info

urinal mint, It was posted previously that I had about 6 inches of bubble wrap surrounding the winch when shipped.. I could have dropped if off my roof. Ken did send me an email confirming a purchase. But that still doesn't tell myself or anyone here why he took my rope off in the first place if the winch wasn't working. And if the winch wasn't working, why chop my frame up if you weren't planning on following through with the trade? It wasn't yours to chop or remove the rope. Thats like me getting the four wheeler, Taking the wheels off and chopping off the handle bars and sending it back to you.
