Im not gonna let this keep me out of the water but it seems that another kid in central florida has passed away from another amoeba incident. Im just posting this up here to let as a warning for all the other riders out there so if you have any strange symptoms you need to get to the DR. I hope this doesnt keep other florida wakeskaters from enjoying what they love. Get out there and shred just be aware of ur surroundings and maybe stay away from some of those stagnant winch spots.

As the illness progresses, victims become lethargic and confused. They might suffer seizures or slip into unconsciousness. There are medications available, but most patients die.

The 3 victims have been young children. Adults potentially can fight off the illness, but from what I've read, most people don't get better and ultimately die within several days.

This sucks! Its been keeping me out of the water this past month. Not because of the amoeba's but because the water is so hot and there is just so much bacteria in the water. The past few times that I have rode I have gotten sick. I really hope the water cools down soon, I miss being on the water. I did not buy a boat this summer for nothing.
