I know from a wakeboarding perspective that anything from a 140 -142 is pretty ideal for me. I haven't seen a breakdown of a person's height to thier wakeskate length. Is it comparable to the ratio for a wakeboard?

I am 5' 11" and 200 lbs.

Who rides what length and how tall are you?

savagegarrick, Im 6' , 215 and I ride a multitude of boards sized from 40 to 43 inches. Maybe start out with a board in the bigger range and go which ever way you feel from there. It's all preference but a bigger board does aid people just starting out.

I'm 5'3 and I've ridden a 41 for all of my wakeskating life. but as of now, I ride a 42 inch bi-level. So there definitely isn't any sort of size chart for wakeskating...but one thing I always forget about is board width on the tips and tails. if you have bigger feet, that might be something you would want to pay attention to.

I'm 6'1" & 190 lbs.

I started off on a Catalyst 116 (45"), thinking I needed a big board, cuz I rode bid wakeboards. Next deck was a Impulse 43; thought it would be too small; it was fine. Next board was an Impulse 41; felt like I was sinking it. That made me a little nervous about ordering my '05 Integ team, but the integ is much wider than the impulse, and it's awesome; rides great.

Just got a K-39 for my daughter (smallest deck I could find), and tried it myself just for kicks. Turns out I can ride it just fine; it just takes a little more finesse than the bigger decks. Now that I'm more accustomed to smaller decks, the 41" impulse would probably be fine. (I wanna try a 40" now).

Bottom line; you can really ride just about any length; you just gotta try 'em & see what feels good. Good point about the width, though. My size 11 feet hung over the edges of the Impulse 41. The integ & our Heartbreaker are nice & wide, so it's not a problem on those.

Good luck & have fun!

Im 6'2" and 240lbs and I ride a 41" Maven right now. I wouldn't be able to ride a board that short if it wasnt so wide though.

I agree; the impluse is a great deck, just a little narrow at the ends for those of us with big feet. We loved the ones we had, but they were '05 & '06 models, and just couldn't stay together. I hear the '07's are much tougher.

Do you really think you'd notice the difference on one inch?

all boards ride different.. wether it's an inch or half an inch.. wether it's wood or composit.. may ride lower or higher in the water.. it's all on your personal preferance.. try some boards out see what you like
