I got my vinyl today after waiting for it so anxiously, and then I did something stupid. I tried to put a Reef sticker on it so it would look like BT's Rolling Eyes , but I didn't like it and peeled it off. Next thing I know, there are a couple large spots of paint gone from the skate. The paint came off surprisingly easy btw.

I realize it is a wakeskate and these cosmetic things will happen, but frankly I was really bummed, especially since it is still only a few hours old. Flame me for caring about such a small imperfection, but I would like to try and fix it.

So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas-possibly what color exactly is used on the vinyl? I'm thinking of going to Home Depot or somewhere and just sanding/repainting the peeled area.

I think my only other option would be to put another sticker on top..to cover it up. What would you guys do(other than leave it alone which I know most would do already Wink )
I just want it to look nice for its unveiling at the lake : )

Thanks.

If I were you I would get a can of Primer, a can of whatever funky color strikes my fancy, some new griptape and go full on custom with that beast.

just put a sticker on it, you'll probably end up making it worse trying to re paint it

Gnarly Dancer 42, I agree with him. Unless your willing to loose a few hours of good riding time. I would just leave it or put anthor sticker ontop.

Jesse, Agreed just repaint the whole thing what ever color you want.
mine has a few paint chips to because my bro droped it on the gravel but no biggie.
If your not going to repaint the whole thing than just put a sticker over it. dont try and do any touch ups it will just make it worse.

I was surprised as well. I wasn't expecting it to come of so easy...I'm just imagining what it will look like after a few sessions.

Thanks for the advice guys. Right now i'm thinking of putting a sticker on, and then when it looks really beat up in a few weeks i'll probably paint the whole thing.

Well today my dad offered to fix up my vinyl if I washed our boat...so I took the trade : )

He's pretty good with this kind of stuff, and now it looks like new. He just sanded/primed/painted the area where the chipping was, and you can't tell it was ever there Very Happy

Yayy so i'm happy now. Can't wait to ride it, tomorrow afternoon I will be at the lake!

It is clear/tan epoxy color. It looks like fibreglass.
Some of the paint chips off only as well, leaving white primer showing.

the paint actually holds up real well during sessions. just dont drop it on its side or hit it off anything and it will be fine even on rail sessions.
