Anyone ever find a cassette? I know esnow has one

actually, we never discussed that bag, but I don't think they were reproduced on a grand scale. It was the "man bag." They had a web contest a long time ago where someone was supposed to have won one (I think it was the "name our new team video" contest...obviously "waterdancers in exile" did not make the final cut ), but that's all I know about that. One was definitely produced though because it was in one of dave's pictures from the cassette booth at expo 04. I would like to venture a guess and say that jason gregory made it...he did some leather work and he made wallets and stuff--they were pretty expensive, but (ahem) "hawter than hawt.
man, I wish I never looked back for dave's pic...I see the expo shots and it makes me want to reach through my computer screen and take it...TAKE IT ALL!!!

lyuno additions?? In my opinion, nobody thinks quite like thomas when it comes to wakeskate technology...does that seem like a tangent? trust me, it's not!!!
A few people on the site have the limited edition cassette shoes. Jim for sure gave three pairs away from a web giveaway, and someone else has some other crazy pair, but I can't remember the description of them, or who even won them. Also, I did buy one of the fidel hats when they were "mad" cheap on buywake. they were blowing all of their cassette stuff out, so I bought it for the sake of having it...and it was only like 10.00 or something. EVERY-THING MUST GO!!!

no doubt!!! I would have bought four pairs, minimum, and I'm not even kidding. One to wear and one to keep (of each style, fool).
my suggestion was to make a run of 4-trac green highlights in honor of that sweet sweet ride. It seemed appropriate since so much thought was already put into the design of each shoe and why he chose the styles that he did. It was all pretty sweet...

my guess is they had samples made. Thats how they did such a small run. A few pairs for the cassette OGs and give away the rest. I guess DVS must think " Why make a colab shoe for a brand that kinda doesn't exists?" I mean we all know cassette will produce stuff here and there but for a huge Skate shoe company like podium they may not see the $s in it.
Yes, that right guys its about money even to skateboard companies.

no sir, methodmikey!
The cassette shoes were originally a limited edition thing. Each design had somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 pairs of each style made, but I think he made a small run for the european DVS counterparts later on. After that, in order for the shoe to be mass produced, they needed a minimum order amount, and I just don't think they were able to get it. But the decision not to mass produce them didn't have anything to do with cassette and the business status of the company.
I don't know if you were ever able to read this annapoliswskate, but here's an interview I did with jim last summer. he explained why he chose each style and pretty much illustrated the meaning and thought that went into the shoes. From an outsider's perspective looking in on that whole project, jim seems like a really good friend to go on and head up a project like this...I think it's especially cool because thomas has been with DVS since the beginning of cassette. He's always repped it and he's always been down. but yeah, I just think the shoes are sweet because they reflect an experience and an influence. Ultimately, I was just really impressed by that and I definitely have a lot of respect for it.
