I've listened to them for a few years.. I saw them play with The Faint about 2 years ago.. wow bright eyes is the worst band to watch live i swear it felt like they played for 3 hours..
Anyways I got the EP.. its alright I guess. |

Bright eyes is one of those bands that I occasionaly enjoy but find impossible to really get into. Timmy Curran has been keeping me covered with my softer listening lately (i'm thoroughly convinced the guy is good at everthing). |

i use to be a huge bright eyes fan but when i listened to conor's new cd and ep i was disapointed. to instrumental, cursive went way to far instrumental with the happy hollow album. personally i think that conor's best album was "digital ash in a digital urn" i liked his sorta scetchy almost electronica sound better. |

I do agree that the EP and new album are very instrumental in some songs which I think is for the better. M. Ward was a nice addition with the backing of Rachel Yamagata and Maria Taylor.
CarterOG- i seem to be the opposite of you... I disliked Digital Ash compared to Fevers/Cassadaga.
JamesBoardr- Commander Venus ... I love Desa as well.
Where's Ryan Lemons when you need him? |

They came to new orleans but it was 18+ and being 15 i was not let in. I tried. I even got my mom to come with me to see if that would get me in.

liquid, i went to that show.... you missed it.
CarterOG308 did they end it with road to joy?
as for the sounds of the albums.... they're all differant, for example "digital ash" was written on lots of alcohol and absenth.... and "i'm wide awake it's morning" was written sober. anyone notice how many sexual referances were mentioned in digital ash? haha. each album is a differant stage of his life almost, and differant sounds and topics. but to me they're all equaly awesome. i went to a maria taylor show (conors girlfriend) before four winds was released and begged her to tell me what the new stuff was like haha.
come to me for any bright eyes questions haha i'm obsessed. i was the third person in line 10 hours before the show listening to sound checks here... the guy in front of me made a conor doll and gave it to him haha wtf? and the girl next to me took her shirt off and threw it at him |

wtf... why end with lua? road to joy was such an epic ending... they made that song seriously last 15 min. and at the end everyone at the show screamed "LETS F IT UP BOYS MAKE SOME NOISE!!!!!" and conor knocks his amp down, throws a beautiful white SG on it... and starts stomping the guitar on the amp, making all kinda feedback and the keyboardist puts stools up to where it hold downs differant keys and it just goes on forever, it was sick.
was there a guy playing on an overhead projecter with flowers and shizzle? |

I envy you..... both of you.....
lua doesn't strike me as a good song to end with.
Ryan - I don't know if this is true but was Mike Mogis absent from the show. My friend (not as a huge into them) went and said that the only guys on stage were Conor and Anton Patzner the violinist and the rest girls. |
