I baught a byerly legacy about a month ago and i have rode it maybe 5 times or so. The other night i noticed that the concave looked messesd up. I took a better look and there was a air bubble under the grip tape. i figured that the grip tape adhesive had gotten warm from the sun and the grip seperated from the board. So i called the store were i got it from and told them the situation, firgured they would just re-grip my board for me.
The guy at the store called the rep and told me that there was a recall on the boards. He said that the paint was peeling off the board and sticking to the grip. Now i have to send it back and wait for another new one. Oh well seasons just begun in ontario anyways. Anyone else have this problem with thier boards???

yes my grip was bubbling all i did was pop them with a knife and pushed them down and they are fine. Paint pealing is an issue with mine as well, on the sides of the top deck. im not to worried its gunna get thrashed any way and ill get another next season.

Mr. Top Hat, actually yea, you could wait till it all peels off and then regrip it after its all gone, there shouldnt be any problem then i would think.

its just paint too. its not like its a sheet of fiberglass. I just repainted mine. Rattle can with a clear coat. spraid the grip too. straight white is sick. Plus you can spot it in the water so good.

CarterOG308, the griptape is stuck to the paint.. so if the paint comes off, the grip is going to come off.. personally i wouldnt waste my time sending it in to regrip it because its just gonna happen again unless they are replacing the whole board.. i would probably just peel the grip off myself.. strip the paint on the top deck with some aircraft remover.. then just regrip it and call it a day

Chrishau, I would keep an eye on the grip tape for bubbles.
The rep told me the first batch had problems with the paint not sticking, so they were recalling them. The paint peels off under the grip tape and sticks to the grip.
I dont want to give it back because i just got comfortable riding the board. And I dont think I could go without it for a week, and i wanted to take it to base camp in a week or so to ride thier rail park.

ok, its just a little paint missing. who cares. Your board is going to get trashed any way. A little paint missing here and there makes it unique. hust think about it. No one will have the same exact byerly as you do. Quite the concept. Just gives it character.
