Hey guys,
I've been wakeboarding for about 3.5 years now and I felt like I wanted to step up the game, so I decided to purchase a Hyperlite Phriction 113 (concave) wakeskate online. I used to skateboard and can still ollie, shove-it, kickflip and all that so I decided it would be an appropriate challenge. I also have DVS Triumph shoes so I'm stoked . The only thing I was wondering is whether my first ride should be with or without fins because I hear it can royally screw you up to have fins on when doing shove-its, butterslides, lipslides, etc. The thing is, I have no idea if I'll be doing that on my first run out. Also, is it worth it to chisel up your EVA foam and replace your board with griptape since I made the choice to invest in shoes and will never be riding barefoot? Hit me back with your opinion whenever possible.

Thanks a bunch,
Mark

Fins/no fins is all preference. Try both, see what you like

Yes, get rid of the foam and put griptape on there.

Yes, use wakeskate shoes. Barefoot is whack

Yeah definitely, alright, thanks a lot guys. One more question: How would I go about taking off the foam? Just chisel it off piece by piece? People are telling me that regular skate grip is not the right griptape to use as well. Is it worth it to buy the jessup stuff?

FenderBass37, heat the foam up with a blowdryer. It will come off easier. Jessup is amazing go for it
