cant you just hammer the rail into the water with the poles already attached?
if its a soft bottom?

not a good idea bro... you could prolly jet it in, but its waaaaaaayyyy easier just to do each pole individually

mattttt60, sorry for the late reply. forgot i bumped this.
they are on the same aisle pvc is on at my HD. they didn't come with flanges. you could probably print the OP picture and show them the poles. even lowes should carry them.
i can't remember how much they were, between $15-20 each. think they are 82 inches long.

Wait, 12' poles or the rail was 12' long? I want to know how long your poles are, and how deep you hammer them in.

Moohaumed, height of rail (in feet) + depth of water (in feet) + 3 or 4 (in feet ((depending on bottom material)) = length of posts (or poles in this case)

the poles were 70 inches long. the rail itself was 12ft. long. not really sure how deep the poles went. deep enough to be stable. if i had to guess when i pulled the rail out after skating maybe 2 or 2.5ft of the poles had mud on them.

Man that seems really shallow; can't believe it doesn't wobble all over the place or fall over. I'm thinking about giving this a try.
