The thing is, it all averages out. People are going to buy the gas they need the day before or after.
Honestly, if the whole "no gas" thing did go through and nobody bought gas on that day, the oil chubs would look at their profits, shrug, and say, "they'll come back... they aaalways come back...". _________________

that's the spirit!
I honestly hope someone does a geurilla terrorist attack on the Alberta oilsands though. If you guys haven't yet heard of it, you soon will. It's estimated to be one of, if not THE largest oil deposits in the world. But it really fvcks shizzle up:
After getting some inside info on the environmental damage its causing, and the fact that the process alone (not even counting the damage the produced fuel will do) accounts for the vast majority of Canada's greenhouse gases. Fackkkkk oil companies! _________________ www.sattelyte.com

yes, yes, yes and yes...Alberta....Canada's most promising and resource rich Province.
I remember sitting in countless Economics Classes in University, and the Profs drawing graphs of the price of oil vs. the cost of extracting/refining oil from the Alberta Tar sands. Highier oil prices do nothing but benefit Alberta.
Invest in Alberta, that's all I've got to say. My sister lives in Calgary, and her house has already tripled in value in the last 4 years. You can't buy houses in Calgary now.
The hell with Iraq...America has all the Oil it needs in its Canadian backyard. Unfortunately, it just really expensive to get the oil right now.. _________________ Life's Kredo = "When the snake falls in love with the spagetti it's time to buy a new hat." & "I guess I need to whiskey up these corn flakes..and heroin up this Orange Juice." |

jonnyUTAH, i'm no business major, but isn't relying on a single resource a little risky? I know a lot of financial advisors are saying the exact opposite of you because the cost of extraction has been grossly underestimated. But then again, it almosts seem stupid not to invest in it.. I dont really know.
A family member of mine is the VP of sustainable development at the biggest oil sands player in the biz, and after getting him a little tipsy and hearing about all the damage being done... well let's just say his job title is an oxymoron. _________________ www.sattelyte.com

Your telling me, how the hell am i supposed to buy a house in calgary?? I have lived here for 20 years and have watched this city turn into crap so why would i pay half a million dollar for a below average house in a stinky city when i can pay less than half that in dreamy nelson BC...
p.s. im moving to nelson in august |

| It might temporarily drive prices down a little but it will not have any real impact. If you really want cheaper gas buy a car that's more efficent, it will be cheaper in the short run and bring down demand in the long run. |

Yea I'm goin with Scotty on this one and fill up out of vengence for these dummies. I sincerely doubt A day won't be a pimple on oil companies asses. And even if it did cause the oil companies to lose money, how do you think they'll get that money back? By raising gas prices you turd spee-lunkers!!! So either way, we're gettin the big, oily shaft. _________________ I like to choke when my team needs me the most, no Romo. |
