Last time I had to check it in as "Odd Luggage" just like surfboards, bikes and golfsets..... _________________ Never winch in shallow water.... |

when i flew with a snow skate all they do is throw a luggage tag on it, then mak you sign a litle waiver saying they arent responsible if someones luggage scratches yours, no big deal at all |

Theres a whole article in a alliance magazine i think and it talks about you saving money fares if you call it something else. Not a snowbaord or surfboard. _________________ "Love the Life you live and Live the life you love" |

RedXIII, Carry on by itself no problem.
I have used a small board bag (dakine) and was never charged excess fees.
This always helps, BE NICE TO THE TICKET AGENTS! And or use the curb side check in. Those guys never want to charge people (make sure to have cash visisble in hand when checking in).

The new Big Blue will comfortably take 3-4 kites, a couple of boards, all your bars, your wetsuit, and frankly everything else that you need for the entire vacation.
Additionally, a "hidden" board storage area, accessible from the top end of the bag, enables you to slide your boards into a compartment separate (and hidden) from the rest of your kite gear ... just in case you need to open your bag to "prove" you're not carrying any boards with you!!
These are key for travel! _________________ Dick Dale for President! www.dickdale.com

i just checked mine in like normal luggage. slapped a fragile sticker on it and didnt cost me anything extra, just saw it at the other end. not a chance i could have taken it on as carry on. some backpacks they wont let you take as carry on these days. |

i've flown with my skate 6 times. (3 round trips) carry on everytime. they never harass me about it either!! even on the REALLY full flights just ask a flight attendant if they can put this in the closet for ya. USUALLY they are happy to help!!
*i flirt shamelessly with flight attendants, RESULTS MAY DIFFER _________________
