I guess this could be a back tuck or whatever you wanna call it. Anyways, if you've seen the truth, Kevin Henshaw does one. Kevin Calvez also does one in the video he just put up. And, about a week ago Nick Taylor said,"Knock, Knock."
"Who's there?"
"Backflip!"....and he preceeded to do one right off of the grass as well.
I can do backflips on a trampoline all day how do I take it to solid ground?? Do I just close my eyes and go for it? |

I used to be able to do them in University. Best thing to do is practice on a Trampoline. Then...if you have access to a gymnasim with the soft ground, try it on there. On the tramp, try them without jumping. Just stand there and throw them.
Picnic tables help....as does booze!!! hahaha..no The first time I stuck one on pavement was off a picnic table to cement. It was good time.
Can i do them now....not really. Not without lots of beer. _________________ Life's Kredo = "When the snake falls in love with the spagetti it's time to buy a new hat." & "I guess I need to whiskey up these corn flakes..and heroin up this Orange Juice." |

Also....don't close your eyes....keep them open and spot your landing.
Kodak Courage always helps....film that crap _________________ Life's Kredo = "When the snake falls in love with the spagetti it's time to buy a new hat." & "I guess I need to whiskey up these corn flakes..and heroin up this Orange Juice." |

I remember when TJ and I did them for like 5 hours behind brad's house cause his mom wouldn't let us ride. Off the trees and gainers and hahahah I can't wait to move down there. Anyways its mostly in your stomach muscles. You jump up throw your head back then use your stomach to throw your legs over. _________________ 407-212-7425 |

Frye, <3
jump off ur toes, not flat footed. and a good way to practice is off of the bar of the trampoline on to the mat. or just man up and throw it. |

Practice jumping straight up first
Then work on backwards somersaults
And stretch it out by doing a back bend (arch) and kick your feet back over
Once you've warmed up...give it a go.
Stay in a tight ball and be sure you pull your legs toward you instead of letting your head go towards your legs.
For some reason I found them to be easier if I threw my arms up extended over my head and then tucked in while holding onto my knees or the back of my legs...keeping the tucked position. Some people find this better...some much worse.
My gymnastics coach used to spot us by supporting our back and helping with the rotation. Be careful about doing this with someone who has never spotted...bloody noses are no fun.
All in all...canalskater nailed it...just throw it and know you're going to land it. |

once you get good at ground backflips take them to running up trees and walls and doing them there not that hard its mostly just confidence needed...give your self one step up then the next one to push off with and start the flip
p.s. there really fun off curved palm trees |

I used to do back flips on my tramp with no problem. But then i flipped and landed on the outer frame of the tramp, ended up spraining the tendons in the bottom of my right foot, bruised the hell out of my left shin, stabbed my wrist to the bone on a piece of sheet metal while spraining it too, landed on my back really hard and jarred my neck pretty good. So since then I haven't been able to do one lol. Its been about two years and now My tramp is in my backyard, but on two sides of the tramp I have fences.. so that messes with my head. I might try standing on the outer frame and flipping towards the middle of the tramp though, maybe that will help me get them back.
I'd really like to get standing back flips down though.. that would be so sick. maybe someday _________________ integrity-wake.com | chriscut.com |

back flips are remarkably easy to do. (i'm a professional stuntman, i had to learn them for a show).
here are the steps.
1. Prepare to jump straight up
2. Swing your arms from hips (in front of you) all the way up to the top of your head
3. swing your arms while you jump to practice jumping straight up
4. jump straight up and pull your knees to your chest, (practice this)
5. all together now, prepare for jump, swing your arms, jump straight up, pop your knees to your chest, and throw your head back to spot your landing.
6. TUCK YOUR KNEES HARD TO YOUR CHEST.
NEVER LEAN BACK!!!
voila! your first back flip.
try on sand at the beach, or on grass. but if you try on sand make sure your not standing on sand that'll give when you jump or it will kill all your vertical jump. |
