sorry if this is in the wrong section, feel free to move it.
Anyone know anything about seadoos?
I took mine out started up fine, ran fine, parked at my friends dock and shut it off. Unloaded skates and got ready to ride, when i went to start it again i got nothing. Time and time again nothing, no battery clicking, no trying to start just silence when i pushed the button. Brought it home threw a charger on it and it was already fully charged. AHH HELP.Anyone have any experience with this?
edit: 93 GTS is model with rebuilt engine in 97 if that matters

check your starter sylenoid. check the battery cables and make sure there tight and put a little grease on them. but i would really check the starter sylenoid, on top of the starter.... good luck _________________ .............for no particular rhyme or reason............. |

my seadoo will beep when i plug it in, but sometimes it wont and it will say 12volt blah blah, but still starts the same. i would say check your battery grounds, throw a little water proof grease all over them when you put em back together to repel the water. |

No beep when key is plugged in, doesnt beep even when it works, to old for that.
When i have the key in i push the starter it makes a very quiet click. The battery has power and terminals are tight and clean. Used a test light on the battery and definitely has power.
Thanks for the help, keep it coming. |

That happend to mine too, I also used the charger and put it back in and it just happend that the battery was dead. We had to use a jumper pack to get it going, just my 2 cents. _________________ -Jordan Schwaller

Have you checked all the fuses? I had the exact same problem, and that time it turned out to be a blown fuse. _________________ Jag heter Fredrik |

hyfliteskate, that's what the mechanics thought was wrong with my ski. still turned out to be one of the fuses. a sylenoid isn't too expensive to replace though if that turns out to be the problem. _________________ Jag heter Fredrik |

jer_d,
get some engine tuner, spray some in each of your spark plug holes, let it set for about 30 minutes, then fire her up. She'll be smokey, but thats all the carbon buildup and shat being cleaned out. Also run some Seafoam or some type of injector cleaner with your gas about once a month when you use her alot.
What type of ski do you have? If you mix your gas, make sure you arent putting to much oil in there. Also, DEFINETLY make sure you have the correct spark plugs, alot of people just buy ones that look alike and dont gap them correctly.
Good Luck!

jer d, only use this method if you own a 2 stroke, if you have a 4 stroke, I will have one of our Sea-Doo tech's e mail you about how to fix your problem
Ok if your spark plugs are wet and black, you need to have someone lean it out on the carburetors low end setting screws, since sea-doo's have been fuel injected for a while now, i forget were the screws are. I'm pretty sure they should be makuni carbs, if that is the case the screws you want to turn is the ones on the bottom. when you lean it out you are closing it off so it wont get as much fuel, and it wont soak the plugs in fuel and oil. so if you do this yourself only turn it a quarter of a turn clockwise. go ride it for a few min, then take the plugs out and check them again. don't close them off to much at one time, if you lean it out too much it will detonate. and eventually seize up. so go slow quarter turns, when it is rite, it will be like a light brown around were the spark plug throws the spark. the threads were it threads into the head will always be a little damp from gas and oil. Suggestion, run brand new NGK BR8ES spark plugs when you try making these changes. don't put anything in the motor, if carbon build up is bad enough to put stuff in the motor its time for a top end in that thing, and dont run anything to clean the injectors, because 2 strokes don't have them

thanks ill try that out, its a 97 gtx. ive got the right spark plugs in there and they never seem to look bad but just dont work, i think it could be because theres a bit of water slowly leaking into the carb, when i tak one out and try to fire it it will spray small amounts of water.... i cant see that being normal. |

Yea if water is getting on the plugs it will be a milky color, if there is water in the motor and you have not sunk it, the head may have a crack in it. water getting in the carbs ussualy wont let the boat run at all
