I'm thinking about buying a ski so i can ride on our lake when it's too low to put a boat in. I can't spend too much and my dad was looking around and found this one. It's a '92 with only 30 hours and the owner says he thinks it has enough power to pull a wakeskater. The only concern of mine is that he said the hull design is sort of flat and may be hard to control with someone riding behind it. Anyone else have any experience with these ski's
Here's a link to the one i'm considering.

That thing is def. in good shape but i would be suprised if it pulls well....i rode behind a late model 700 in the bahamas and it was pretty good but i dont know about a 92 with that hull....i would just go ride behind it if theyll let you. _________________ F.T.D.S |

Slapdown, ive ridden behind similiar skis. I think itll deffinately do the job for you. And since its a yamaha it should be pretty dependable for an old ski. I would get it for sure. |

mine is a 700cc, but i believe the one you are looking at is a 650cc. but mine stock has like 65hp. but i put boyesesn reeds in it and tuned exhaust and impeller. stock it ran about 43mph and now it does around 52mph. but its not really about how much horsepower you have, its mainly thrust. so if it doesnt have a lot of lower end power just get an aftermarket impeller and it should work great.
Sorry for the long post i began to ramble on.... _________________ .............for no particular rhyme or reason............. |

hyfliteskate, Awesome thanks for the help man, how much do you think a decent impeller would cost, for parts and labor? Unless of course it's simple to put in _________________ - Evan Molina |

Okay for a Skat-Trak impeller for a stock engine= 179.99. Then you have to buy the tool that holds the driveshaft for $20. and for labor, its pretty easy to do yourself. All you do is take the ride plate, steering nozzle, and impeller cone all off and the impeller and driveshaft should all slip out at once. then put the driveshaft holder tool on the splined end and a wrench on the impeller nut. and change out impellers and reassemble it all. You can find all the parts and tools you need from rivaracing.com _________________ .............for no particular rhyme or reason............. |

hyfliteskate, well i'll see if i can do without it at least for a little while. It doesn't have a trailer so we are already gonna have to buy that. _________________ - Evan Molina |

hyfliteskate, oh damn haha. Well i'm looking to buy in the area and that seems like one of the best deals for now. It's coming out of my budget for a car so i'm definitely planning on testing it out if i can. It's been kept in perfect condition though and only has about 30 hours, which is the reason i was attracted to it at first. Thanks for the info though, it's a lot to take under consideration, but i guess it will all come down to testing it, and finding a decent, cheap trailer. _________________ - Evan Molina |
