I make giant cardboard cut outs of animals, paint them black, stick dimes in the eyes and set it on a long straight road, at nite.

• Got on stage for entire set with Red Hot Chilli Pepers at Fugji rock in front of 50 thousand plus fans.
• Got back stag for Chilli Pepers at above mentioned show and got drunk off the beer and food back there.
• Lived in a Barn in the Hay with Animals for 3 weeks in Lithuania.
• Got Drunk with entire Burton A team in Sapporo, multiple times.
• Sang Kareoke with Tre (drummer) from Green day.
• Told Peter Line that he should go to University.
• Stepped in a Bull Ring in Costa Rica on New Years Eve – With Bull in Ring.
• Ate a fistful of Schrooms and stood on top of a fronzen lake for 6 hours.
• Got drunk with Brandon Livermore.
• Took a schroom trip solo in downtown Tokyo.
• Got into a Rumble (fight) involving more than 20 people.
• Got Married.
• Went Skydiving.
• Hitch-hiked solo in Europe.
• Woke up naked in a Hotel hallway not know how I got there.
• Taught a snowboard lesson with a Kid and lost him. When my boss rode by and asked where my lesson was, I said he was taking a dump in the bushes. I found him unharmed shortly there after.
• Taught a snowboard lesson while being heavily concussed after a bad whip-out and continued to teach the lesson having no idea what was going on –that was insane!!
• Sang Kareoke with two naked Japanese girls behaving badly.
• Worked in NYC.
• Lived in an apartment where we did not empty the garbage for 8 months. We just let the garbage freeze on our deck. When the snow melted, we got rid of that sha-it right quick.
• Got banished from the store with the largest beer selection in North Carolina.
• Paid $600 for a single World Cup game ticket
• Snowboarded 127 days in one season
• Partied with Donovan Frankenreiter
• Been in an Audi on the Autobahn traveling very fast.
• Slept numerous nights on the ground in Russia.

That’s a short list. Remember what Gold-finger says: “caus in the end it’s all ya’ve got! Memories about your life, and how ya lived it.”

Alright….I am bored, so I’ll pick one. I also have photo proof of these incase anyone thinks that I am making sha-it up.

Backstage/onstage with Chilli Peper.
Fuji Rock festival is the biggest outdoor music festival in Japan. It is like a 5 day festival. We took a 30 hour ferry from Hokkaido to Niigata and then took a train from Niigata to the Fuji Rock site (FYI - the music festival is no where near Mt. Fuji). We slept in tents, and I snuck into the Hotel to take showers.

The Chili Peppers where the headliners on the last night. The night before we snuck backstage and onstage for the Chemical Brothers (see photo below). Security was pretty tight, so I wasn’t sure that we were going to get backstage for the Chillis. I figured that I would be in the mosh pit, so I didn’t pack my camera incase it would get crushed.

My English pal Dan Jones and I knew that the chances of both of us sneaking past security were slim, so we wished each other “God Speed”, and we went our separate ways. My style of sneaking backstage is to pretend like you belong there. I just pretended to be on my cell phone and snuck between all the sound trucks. When I got backstage, Dan was already there drinking a beer. I laughed and asked him how he got there. He said that he took off his shoes and rolled up his pants and walked through the river (Fuji rock festival was at the base of a ski resort and there was a large river that went through the venue). We were stoaked!!! We got completely hammered on free booze. Flea was the first person to show up. He walked past us and went into his private little room. He put a crapload of Vasaline on his hands. He must have meditated or something in that room for like 45mins. Anthony showed up and did vocal exercises. Chad was drinking a beer. The only person that we didn’t see was John.

When it came time for the show, one of the ladies shouted “everyone here for the band follow me.” She took us right up to the side of the stage in front of a sea of people. I went straight to the front. I would have given a million dollars for my camera. It was the best show of my life. So F’ing amazing.

When the show was over, I asked the sound guy for a copy of the set list (see photo below). That is the only proof I have of it.

Later that night, we got drunk with Joe Strummer of the Clash. He was there with his family. Joe died later that year. I will always remember that night as one of the best in my life.

HAHAHA..my family is from Lithuania. My uncle has a farm with a bakery. We had a massive family reunion. There wasn’t enough room in the house, so all of the kids slept in the barn with the animals. We just put blankets and crap on the hay. It was the most comfortable sleep ever. There was this crazy dog that they would make freak out by saying some crap in Lithuanian. It pissed me off.

There wasn’t enough hot water, so we just “showered” in the pond. I remember for Juice, they just took berries and smashed them up with water. It was so ghetto. My brother and I learned to drive stickshift with my drunk Uncle. I staled my first car with a drunk in the passenger side. It was a Russian Lada (see link below for explaination)

I also saw my parents get drunk for the first time on that trip.

HAHAHA…..oh God!!! Let me just preface this by saying….drugs are bad!!

Check this out!! Schrooms and even Peyote were legal in Japan up until June 2002. http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/3050.html I just so happened to be in Tokyo on June 2002. It was also the night of Japan’s First World Cup game. I think it was against the Dutch. Japan ended up tieing the Dutch, so everyone was in a Party mood. Unfortunately, there were a ton of Cops around.

I figured that the best way to experience a crazy town like Tokyo on a crazy night was stizzled!!! Also…I knew that I would probably never had another night like it again…so I went for it. I found a headshop, and in Japanese asked the dude….”I want a mellow high…nothing too dangerous.” He gave me what I needed. I ate them. 45 mins later I started to get the Bill Cosby’s. The Cosby’s are when you start to speak like Bill….bipin’ and a boppin’ and making no sense…..

I basically roamed the streets. I felt like I was in the movie Blade Runner. I ate some nuddles like he does in the movie. It was a blast.

I did freak out a bit, and, thank god, found my hotel. I chilled in the lobby for a while then went up to my room and watched the Queen’s Grand Jubilee. It was a fascinating spectacle. More importantly, that is the only way I can remember what date the trip was.

What were your reasons for living in Japan? (Something I have always wondered about you.) Also, how have you gotten the opportunity to travel to so many different countries?

Yes Garry….I took a boat to Japan. It was long, and I ate rice. No….we flew.

The Jet Programm is the greatest thing to do when you finish school. As long as you have a University degree, you can do it. You get tons of time off to travel. There were friends of mine on the program that traveled every second month to a new country. My buddy Dan took a ferry from Japan to China and took the Trans Siberian highway home to Europe.
