Hey guys, this is just my story of my road trip to FL.

My mom lives in North Palm Beach and my grandma in Boca so the wife and I and her parents and my mutt drove down to Fl......with one wakeskate aboard Wink

My main reason for bringing it was AlexXx, he told me he'd give me a pull when I came down .....so here we are, nearly two years later.

Christmas was glorious and after the hype it was time to get wet. After a trip down to Boca I thought I saw Rixen off the turnpike. So I called my lil bro who was in Boca to meet up. He ended up at Rixen and had a blast.....I ended up at Okoheelee which was what I thought was Rixen. So now the sun was setting so I just walked down to the last boat on the lake and I asked a gentleman who had just finished his slalom set for a pull. I offered him 10$ and he obliged. The boat was a mastercraft that was actually purchased in Maryland Cool

Him, my pop in law, and the guy's son had a fabulous evening butter set. I was glowing from the kickflip I hit at the buzzer. The lil guy went nuts. I told the guy to come to OC and I think I'll see them again.

The next day I met up with Alex, who is the nicest happy go lucky son of a gun you'll ever meet. He turned me down for gas money, told me to get in the boat and lets go. Cool

He lives on this lil buttery cove along some magroves and the water temp was punno. We both threw down some big tricks and hooted and hollered the whole set. It was unforgettable. Thanks Al! I made it back safe.

I tried to hook up with Jamesboarder but due to my lack of conciousness and traveling with two females we ran behind and I missed him at the Odub. I owe you one James. Anyway I picked up a new vest and volume 4=$. Matt manzari's brother Darren worked in the shop and was soooo nice and filled me in on things. I also met a red hed Keith, he was so sincere, who ran the cable and he said he skates with D. Hanson, anyway I'm stoked to see their new movie Esoteric. And I invited Keith up to MD and told him to bring David. I was amazed that I was pretty much 1 skater in a crowd of over twenty strappers. Rolling Eyes

Anyway I took one good fall on a rail for peice of mind and the rest of the time I spent on the long cable and it took me a while to get a 3shuv but after a few falls I had them locked. It was so chill. Then I watched Volume 4 at least 4 times on the way back up. This video is sick. Landmark tricks!

I drove by shore drive on the way up and thought of the guy on here whose namesake is this. I got in just b4 12 and cracked a bottle of bubbly and watched the ball drop. A perfect ending to an epic journey.

i was at odubby till like 2 or 3 then i took outmy boat for a sunset sesh. sorry i missed ya. keiths pretty rad, esoteric is going to blow everyones mind. was lemons still there when you got there?

Raven, Nice! I really enjoyed reading it (it's nice to think about something else besides our crappy winter) and I think it's cool that you took the time to write that much about your trip. Anyway, it sounded like a blast.

and I'm jealous that you have issue 4. I saw that it was available for purchase on the volume site, but I was waiting for the boardstop to get it. I need that video like...now.

So what is the long cable? Is that just where you'd basically ride around and do flats stuff?

Raven that sounds efin sweet!!!!!!!! Thats one of the best things i like i about ws.com and this sport is that you can hook up and ride with other people from anywhere in the world.

Sounds like you had a kickass time though, it mustbve been amazing being able to ride in December being that you and I are up in the north Sad

Anyways Im glad to hear you had a sweet xmas Razz

sick man. your brother and ivan came up to lake weir and we had 2 days of good sets, it was definatly a good way to start off the new year.

electricsnow, thanks, yes the long cable on the big lake with no hits was so fun. I love flats tricks cause it's just you and the glass.

sounds like an awesome trip Raven. I love going down to Florida, something about the way it smells really gets you feeling great Very Happy

I ride mostly up north, but I did get a chance to hit up the winch with mario c. this summer but it was some hidden little pond so dont know many lakes in the detriot area

MrMarbles, I was like you, except I was sitting on my a$$ in the f*cking car for 17 hours. Maybe someday. Although I feel it will be sometime before I get back to FL. I want to go to Costa next year so maybe I'll stop on the way Cool
