protecting your skate

I'm painting my board and what not, and nobdy answered me last time i posted this. I need to know some people experience with their final step in their skate. Do I use laquer or polyurathane? Will poly work?

ok here ya go dude.... wat I did is I went to a boat supply store and asked for a paint that will not only look dope but protect the wood... I got a petit paint.... 3 layers of petit primer and 4 layers of polyurathane red... and ive rode once since Ive done it and it still looks sweet note ive kinda thrown it around on the dock but still the paint didn't chip!!! heres what the boat looks like after it was painted

alright its cool, i have some left over poly from when we re finished our teak on the boat.. and my dad said i could use it i wanted to to see if anyone else has tried it.. so thank you very much.. i think ill go with some layers of brush on poly then.

I used a new product called vinyl esterepoxie it is the s**t but poly will work and it is cheaper but my stuff is tough

ight ight. cool guys thanks... how many coats would you put on... since i have some poly i mine as welll jsut use that
