Why is AFI emo now?

So, as a long time fan I was slightly dissapointed to roll up to my local record store in search of the new album (I know this is kinda late, but I have no TV and was in some mad hippy towne all summer) and after a frustrating search in the "punk/hardcore" section, it caught my eye in the "emo" section.

WHAT?

Christ, someone tell me why this is emo now. "Miss Murder" is super poppy and does have that tone, but is that really justification for the new, thirteen-year-old-girl tag slapped on them?

PIRATE, umm, i believe they started out as "asking for it" but it could be "anthems for insubordinates" I have to say, that afi is now my favorite band, i just started listening a few months ago after hearing total immortal, and i have to say their old stuff is absolutely sick but their new stuff is shizzle. pretty much anything after they left nitro sucks arse

**I will say that sing the sorrow had some good stuff on it even though they were with dreamworks**
