i heard they use to be super hardcore/screamo, real big locals here in jacksonville, but once they got signed i think their label made them go all poppie and turn down the rock

yea alot of their demos and stuff are alot more metal oriented(which is why i like them) but when you get signed you get changed. thats how it is. he was being interviewed and the questions was soemthing along the lines of why does the mtv verion on facedown have less screaming than the album, and his response was "we got fizzle". so basically i like their album, but i understand why they had to go mainstream, for one they signed with virgin records and huge label, but i can still respect them, i jsut wont be pleased when im surrounded by junior high girls screaming there hearts out that hes so cute or soemthing, that will make me lose it, and start a mosh pit, where all 12-14 year olds will be fist targets. yea tahts true, i just think its sad they have to sell out on mtv to get famous or whatever. if your on mtv, i think you should be embarassed as a musician. but whatever, i always liked there demo stuff, not the teeny bopper versions.

Wtf are you guys talking about. It's not a bands choice to be on mtv or not. When they wrote the album I doubt they decided not to scream as much because they thought it would hurt their image. MTV is better! No MTV2! No Fuse is the most cool! Imo they all help get artists noticed. You guys call this stuff teeny bopper music, why is that? A few years ago boy bands were teenybopper music. They sound nothing alike. How could these two different types of music both be considered teenybopper. I know why. It is because there will always be music and there will always be teenage girls. The teenage girls who are always screaming for fall out boy, red jumsuit etc are just the newest generation of teenagers. If they were that age when the boybands where popular they would be doing the same thing. Should that make the music any less enjoyable/creative/credable? It should not. Unfortunatly, b/c it is the cool thing to be "different" and disaprove of things accepted by the mainstream, people feel the need to generalize the popculture's intrests and brush them off as subpar creations. Humor the thought of a Job for a Cowboy type band on TRL in the future. I can picture these futuristic kids jumping off their hoverboards to watch the broadcast. They use their 3D hologrophic projectional backpacks to watch a live performace as if they were actually at the venue (Yes, the future is gunna be sick!). These hoverskaters mock the band and call them teenyboper sell outs for not decapitating domestic animals and not performing the ritual sacrifices of an audiance member like their favorite underground bands are known for doing. There is music for everyone and it doesnt make it good or bad because of the people who listen to it. It makes it good or bad because you have listened to it, and you have formed your own opinion about it.
End Rant

Fyi: The above rant is the by product of the following:

three research papers
procrastination
adderall
all nighter
