|
|
Well I've wanted to play around with this for awhile and this weekend when I accidentally dropped my Integ from the dock to my uncles boat by accident and put a big ding in the rail I decided now was the time. But I have no clue what I'm doing. Any help would be great and I'm putting two pics up asking where to round and one of just the ding in the board.

wakemitch, I've looked at that but I'm still not sure whether to round just the area in the 2nd picture like it shows in that link or the whole slant.

Jama, epoxy it first and clamp it for a day or so (if you havent yet.) If you put enough expoy in it you can just sand down the expoy and follow the exisiting edge shape. That's what I would try to do anyway.

Jama, you dont have to touch the top sheet. the rail should extend past it.

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting a little extra confidence before you permanently alter a 250 dollar deck...

Step 1: Take sanding block
Step 2: Sand edges
It's so simple. Just sand the thing until the rails are smooth. Yes, you might have to sand a little bit of the bottom layer but not much. Since you are ROUNDING the rails, it shouldn't be affected much down there. Stop making it more complicated that it really is people! Its the same process as sanding the edge of a piece of wood
