Has anyone attempted to teach their dog to wakeskate? Im very interested in starting to teach my 4 month old american bulldog to do this. I figured i could use the byerly 05 (its like a boat on water) and make some sort of mount in the front of the board that the rope would attach to. Then i would tie about 1 foot of rope and a handle to the device in the front so Scooter could hang on. Any ideas?

I don't know, but please give him a doggy vest. I know dogs can swim and all, but there are these people on our lake who went for a pontoon boat ride and I guess their dog either jumped off of the boat, or swam out to them after they left, but they didn's see it and it drowned. Huge bummer becuase I love animals...

Anyway, good luck with that.

He loves water but not a great swimmer. We will of course invest in a doggie life vest. It will happen......you'll see.

He is also only 30 lbs so the ski wouldnt have to move that fast to keep him out of the water. I think its very possible.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=XE6QntZDim0 if dogs can skateboard i'm sure that wakeskating is possible. You might have to hold them up while they are getting up though. Laughing

same here, but he could barely see out of it.

I have been trying forever to get my dog to skateboard, the best i can get is him sitting on it while i ride my cruiser.

flict. definetly use a wakesurf board. I rode behind one the other day at 70ft for shits and giggles and it was impossible for the board to ef up. It is so stable and sticky because of its massive fins. So try teachin him on that, id suggest if its a real small dog maybe techin him to hold an old handle in his mouth??? anywho good luck

oh yah anyone ever seen the waterskiing squirrel??? Cool Laughing

the bigger the board the better, before i ever heard of a wakeboard/wakeskate i used to get pulled behind a ponton boat on a windsurfer and ever so often we used to take our dog along for the ride, she loved it. good luck with the wakeskate thing though.
