So I went out and bought a pair of skate shoes, but I read somewhere that it helps to drill some holes in the shoes for water drainage... How would I do this?? With a regular drill?? And is there a particular location that works best?? Thanks in advance for your help!

just use a regular drill bit, maybe quarter inch and drill straight into the bottom of the soles.

criswb, just check how heavy your shoes get when in the water

If they seem too heavy you could drill a couples of holes on the sides and under your foot, like in the middle where you dont really put pressure and on the sides where it is the thickest.

I never really had to drill holes in my shoes, but I think a regular drill would work Afro

in my opinion when I am riding if the shoes fits snug on my foot I don't notice the weight but when it is really loose and sliding around I notice the weight much more. So if you don't think there to heavy when riding in them just leave them as be that way you can where them as regular shoes when they are dry.

yah i have my old skate shoes and i dump water out of them after every session... but its all good becasue i find it helps me know where my feet are when i have a bit of weight on them... and it makes it a lot nicer to ride onm a really hot day when your feet are swimming in the water in your shoe.....
