cursive, the good life, deseperacidos and commander venus sounds nothing like bright eyes you idiots, how can you compare rock bands (with the exception of the good life) to the alt folk style that is bright eyes. sure he may have been in desaparcidos and commander venus,( commandar venus was very terrible by the way) hell he was in alot of bands too but none of them sound anything like bright eyes. people like you are the 9 year old girls that scream out "i love you conor, play lover" over and over at the shows and wreck it for everyone else by being complete tools. do us all a favour and go back to your hawkthorn heights cds.

ontario_skater, So LAST year? shizzle, exactly how up-to-date are you? If anything, Bright Eyes is "so 2000" because that was the year he broke... So I guess you had never heard of him back then? Eeh.. maybe that's because you suck?

But I wouldn't agree on that statement either, since he is still one of the best song writers around...

most of the saddle creek record bands are very good, do they sound exactly like bright eyes? no, they really dont. But Conor Oberst is an amazing artist and he strongly influenced most of the bands on the record label (not to mention the ones he's in, which are alot). So ontario_skater lay off

Deseparecidos is an awsome band, it's conor's way of a more hard, almost thrash metal style of music. I like it alot.

Try Criteria...they have a couple songs in Retrospect (Byerlys last section and Thomas' section)...I think they're under the same label...anyways, their En Garde album is really good.

hahaha sorry el, I didn't mean thrash metal, i just couldn't think of a good word to explain desaparecidos to him. I guess maybe hard rock. But yes, thrash metal was not a good choice for a word....

What has been up with me lately?

But in any case, check them out, its a good band, i just wish they would make another album (i think they only have one).

Oh and if you can get yourhands on it, check out conor oberst and brit daniel's (from spoon) EP. It's only 4 songs, but i really like them.
