yea and it spins between your legs a little inverted, otherwise it could be called a front varial flip _________________ Can't eat at McDonald's every day - Shannon Hoon |

Nope, doesn't matter whether it goes between your legs. (Sorry, repeating myself again here). I know I can't prove that I'm right, but I can tell you that from years of watching skate videos and reading magazines and stuff that I'm 100% sure that a hardflip is the same thing as a frontside varial flip. (Long sentence right there) |

ok you can think that, but thats not right because i can do a front varial flip and not a hardflip because they are different and a hardflip is harder _________________ Can't eat at McDonald's every day - Shannon Hoon |

Oh yeah Stussy, well, um, uhh, well... Tony Hawk and Eric Koston think that a hardflip is a frontside varial kickflip, and if they think that then you have to too buddy!! (You know, since we skateboarders are all a bunch of mindless drones who blindly follow our professional heroes and such). |

I think Mullen invented it so only he would know for sure. I got anoter question that is sort of related. WHats a 360 hard flip? Is that double hard flip ro something else? _________________ Llamas are better then Alpacas

I heard somewhere that Daewon Song invented hardflips, but I could be totally wrong. I think a 360 hardflip would just be a kickflip with a frontside 360 shuvit; I've never heard of anyone doing one, though. I'd imagine it would look pretty weird. |

A 360 flip has a BACKSIDE 360 shuvit and a kickflip, not frontside, Frye. As for the hardflip/frontside varial flip thing. well, you guys are dumb and I give up, but one day when you're all like 70 years old you'll be sitting in your rocking chairs, have a fit of inspiration, and yell at the top of your feeble lungs, "Man, that there whippersnaper on that message board 50 years ago was right about those snark-flippy things or whatever, hey May what were those called again." May will then answer "Oh those were called hardflips dear." And then you'll say, "Oh yeah, I forgot. Sorry what were those called again honey, I forgot again!" And then you'll sit at your desk and feel like a complete idiot because you just read this entire paragraph of retarded nonsense that I thought up. |

skatingguy, if you are right about a hardflip being a fs varial flip. Then surely a 360 hard flip would just be a 360 double flip? And Daewen might of invented it I forgot. _________________ Llamas are better then Alpacas

Here's a halfway decent source; this was the first part of a trick tip from transworld skateboarding:
(hardflips with rodney jones)
A hardflip is when your board rotates 180 degrees like a frontside pop shove-it, but flips like a kickflip. It might help to think of it as a frontside kickflip shove-it.
As for frye, your post wasn't even funny. Way to keep it civil.
Here's the rest of the trick with a sequence:

To Fred/Australian/Freestyle guy: I don't think a 360 hardflip would involve a double flip; normal 360 flips don't have a double flip involved, so frontside, "hardflip" ones probably wouldn't either.
To Stussy: Thanks for the congratulation, man!! Yeah I know it was pretty good for me to write that inspired paragraph, and thanks for acknowledging my greatness, Stussy. I appreciate it more than you could ever know, seriously dude, thanks!!
To Frye: Actually I'm not anyone who's ever posted on this site. I am actually the reincarnated form of that Hamburger Helper glove dude, so I don't see why you don't like me, seeing how you like Hamburger Helper and all. |

Well as I have no idea what a 360 hard flip is I'll take you word for it. But im just thinking, if a 360 hard flip was a double hard flip and its a fs varial flip then that would mean double everything in the trick i.e double the shuvit meaning 360 and double the flip making it double. _________________ Llamas are better then Alpacas

Stussy, I think you've missed the point. Didn't you say that a hardflip was different than a frontside varial kickflip (because of the rotation)? With the transworld tricktip, the definition was simply a frontside shove with a kickflip; they didn't say anything about a specific rotation of the board. It think it's just a function of style, kind of like how some shoveits don't necessarily spin on a flat axis, but the board will kind of tilt in mid air. Anyway.... _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |
