have you ever tried lifting your front foot off of a regular wakeskate?

Nick, wakeskating is more like skating than anything else. I'm not going to get into a silly argument with you because I feel like I've made my point, but wakeskating and skateboarding have so many similarities that you can cross over a lot of tricks legitimately. If you can't you just find a suitable name for it (as an example, finding an appropriate name rather than poaching "manual"). Just because you lean back and it requires balance doesn't automatically make it a manual. There are other characteristics that make a trick what it is. And with my previously mentioned example, the 4-trac is the only skate thus far that has anything on it that even remotely resembles something like a skate truck, so a true manual might be possible on that.

Anyway, if wakeskating and skateboarding are so different, why go and poach skate names for wakeskate tricks?

In conclusion, it's not wakeskating's job to bastardize tricks (skate tricks in particular), that's wakeboarding's job.
