Saw this a couple of days ago, for full price, in a store:
Didn't use a funny angle either. Had the other tip flat on the ground. Now I completely understand this isn't a perfect representation of LF's, but makes me wonder what kind of quality control goes into these, allowing such a warped board to even be shipped from a warehouse. Hot shipping container maybe? |

I wouldnt say "id never buy a wood board because of LF" LF has never had a reputation for quality... they are more interested in selling in quantity. Im pretty sure 90% of people who have skated a LF board have broke one. Its just the company, like you mentioned, who has no quality control, to let just a warped board out. Plus that wood looks like Home Depot lumber lol.... |

First, not all wood decks are created equal. Some are mass produced in far off lands with little to no QC so the company can save a bunch of money. Others are hand laminated in multiple coats by the very people who own the company. Take your pick.
Second, wood decks require upkeep if you want them to last, get some sandpaper and marine grade sealant and stay on top of all the cracks chips in the finish. Otherwise its gonna get waterloggd, split, delamed, etc. |

So would this be a fair cost comparison:
Composite: High cost entry = Low/No Cost maintenance
Wood: Low cost entry = Maintenance REQUIRED
? |
