Get the Cassette 3D 40", it has the most pop of any board currently for sale. Stick with grip tape, you lose pop from foam and it makes an annoying squeeking sound when you move your feet.

ive owned both cassette and hyperlite...and i have to say cassette. wood boards just have a different feel....when i'm riddin' i say, 'let me try my hyperlite' after one run i thow it back in the boat and say 'give me my cassette'.....compression molded might last longer...but i could care less because it doesnt give me that ride that i enjoy.

cassette is gonna give you that pop....

one thing that i like about the foam top is being able to ride without shoes if i forget them...its fun to do sometimes...

but i think i get more grip w/the grip tape....

i think the hyperlite is a little more forgiving on landings than the cassette.

ya have to weigh whatcha want...but i'd still stick w/the cassette..

I ride both, the cassette with no fins is a great surface board. The byerly feels like it just wants the air. So depending what I'm working on I use one or the other. Starting out though I think the cassette gives you a better feel.

Its hard for people to try boards if there is no access to them in their area. Rolling Eyes

You go to a shop in your area that carries them. Most shops have demo programs that put the cost of the demo towards the product you eventually end of buying. Also finding out if there are reps in your area and being friends with them usually leads to free demo sessions.
