theboarder, buy the best 03 or 04 board you can. for the price of a new flat one you could get a pretty decent board from a season or two ago. _________________ www.unicornofthesea.com |

good idea... buy an old concave (old but new).
I recently experienced a sensation that contradicted what I had been taught. I always just though I knew flat decks were inferior to concaves. I usually ride a Catalyst 116 with fins, but after a run on my friend's Scape 112 finless, I LOVED IT. Flat decks are pretty sick-nasty, and at least not as uselsee as I used to think, but concaves still rule. Get whatever you want, your style will develop differently, but at the same speed on pretty much any board. _________________ Go Lake Sammamish, Bake's Marine Center, and me. |

Issaquah, Washington.
at the south end of Lake Sammamish, and about 15 minutes (when obeying speed limit) West on I-90 from Seattle. _________________ Go Lake Sammamish, Bake's Marine Center, and me. |

skatethewake, thats how ive always felt, but some styles will develop faster on certain boards. i just got a karma to replace my old LF concave and ive only had about five runs on it. havent gotten used to it yet but it will be sick when i do. |

The style will develop differently, but im saying that if you naturally suck at wakeskating or have bad balance, you will progress at the same rate on pretty much any board. If you have natural skill and good balance, you will progress at the same rate on pretty much any board. Yes, there is some small difference like the edge sharpness (may slide out more), the weight (you may lose it in the air), or the grip (you may slip off), but basically, a board is a board when it comes to your rate of progression. _________________ Go Lake Sammamish, Bake's Marine Center, and me. |

skatethewake, i wouldnt exactly call those small differences. edges weight and grip can make a board good or bad. |
