Hey guys. I'm buildin a funbox and am lookin for some input.
Here is a rough sketchup (not to scale)
Basic idea is an up-to-flat box with a wallride on the side and an angled ledge on the back side. This will be my first rail so it needs to be easy to ride, yet I want the option to progress. I've hit a handful of rails in my life but never on a skate. I want this to be EASY yet fun. How high out of the water should I build?
I got the idea after finding some building materials at an abandoned construction site near my house.
These are foam core insulation pieces. They float well and most are precut in 4X8 blocks about 10 inches thick. I plan on making the flat section 16 feet, with a 4-6 foot up ramp. Maybe 2 feet high? again I want this to be EASY but the wall ride and ledge should make it plenty challenging.
My main concern is that once/if the foam gets waterlogged, it'll sink. What do you think? |
