|
|
Well I think its called an a frame rail? Maybe a half a frame or something but anyway to hit the rail I have to edge out toeside (I'm regular). I can ride up the inclined bit but once I get to the kink the rope pulls me off to the left and I can land it but I want to ride it the whole way. I was told to start edging out as late as I could which helped me ride the rail straight without it pulling me to the side but then I started flying through the air when I hit the kink because I was going so fast. By the way it was this rail at owc.

Ugh, that rail. That cable goes way too slow so it's pretty hard to stay on the whole way to the end. It can be done but you've got to make sure you edge out all the way to it and let your momentum carry you across/keep you on it.
Do what you're doing but make sure to absorb the kink a bit so your board doesn't leave the rail. Just keep your knees bent and stay low.

i've never hit that rail but it just looks like a flat bar with a friendly up at the beginning. you need to edge later, harder, and faster coming into it, keep the handle pressed against your hip, you want maximum line tenion coming into it, and stand tall but athletic stance knees slightly bent. right before you hit it you need to flatten your board off (no edge). once you hit it suck you knees up to absorb the up kink. balance and use the handle to balance too. ride away clean. this is what i do hope this helps

Yea forgot that but you can take you back hand off as you flatten off but still keep the handle in close. how wide it is? maybe if its wider than the width of your board, while learning try riding 50/50 across it. If its narrow like 12 inches or less then maybe try turning 90 (lipslide?) and balancing across it still using the handle to help balance too.
