what do you think is going to happen to the wake boat industry?

when they are not activly helping spark younger kids on wakeboarding they are killing themselves

if the people who are currently buying boats for the family to go out and tube and surf behind find out that they can tube and surf at almost any waterpark now adays (with flowriders popping up everywhere) they wont spend the money on a wakeboard specific boat

when wakeskating is constantly striving to support its self and grow, i feel like wakeboarding is on its way to its self dug grave

There are different kinds of serious wakeboarders, so i don't think the emphasis on boats will kill "wakeboarding" as much as certain aspects of the boating industry. but there will definitely be a shift of some sort. The funny thing is I know this kid who considers himself a cable rider without having any major cable in wi, aside from the few 2.0s, and the ones I know of are at Nordic mountain and aacadia in northern illinois. So he makes trips to wake nation and owc. And for sure this guy could have a lot of boat time if he really wanted it.

Behind that it's hard to comment...it seems like board companies do a lot of promoting with their riders in order to feed or develop enthusiasm. And of course, of has their demos on full cables and now they have a small 2.0 demo series. So i think that is helping with that shift...especially when you see how the euros have been riding for yeaars due to costs and difficulties in accessing waterways. It's like cable has been their standard for awhile.

Maybe Remote or Watermonsters can come up to Michigan and come do a winch and boat trip I would love to play tour guide to show some good wakeskaters some dope spots!

Boats may slowly fade into the background, but wakeboarding won't go anywhere... too many people take that shizzle way too serious. There are plenty of strappers out there who are promoting wakeboarding the right way and doing what they love, not to mention traveling around the world doing so.
