I have a friend’s wedding coming up that I’m doing some videography work for. The bride/groom said that they want it to look kind of vintage, kind of like lomography; slightly over exposed/blurry/grainy. I’d like to get as much of this effect as I can without post production (although I can do some if need be). Any help on how to get there would be greatly appreciated! _________________ If you're not living for something you dying for nothing. |

The only way to do that without post production is by filming with a real "vintage" camera. Super 8, 16mm, etc. Which probably has way more post production involved anyway.
Depending on the camera you are shooting with, you can make adjustments to exposure.. but I don't know of any techniques for grain and stuff like that.
Weddings are very difficult to shoot so I'd suggest focusing on getting the shots you need and worrying about the rest in post production.
Also, this probably isn't the best forum to ask this as not many people on here do videography for a living. Try out some film/photography forums.
Dvxuser.com has a ton of information, try a search on there! |

you can add grain, and all sorts of color correction in post, also play with blending modes, if you shoot some bright light flicker close up to the lens you can lay it over (on video 2) and put a blending mode on it so it acts like a 16mm film burn.
I hear magic bullet is a popular one with wedding videographers, also greyscalegorrilla.com has some filter tutorials. |
