Hi!
What do you guys use for rails as topping except trex? Where I live we don't have trex.
Any suggestion what I can use ro make it slippery and not aggressive to board?
Thanks,
Mike |

If you're really desperate, you can just wax up a piece of wood. It won't last very long and will probably rub down your board pretty quick though.
If you're able to, just experiment. Usually the harder/smoother the surface, the better. |

you may not have trex but im sure if u have a home depot around you wil find something, you can also use FRP panel, verandah is another company who makes composite deck boards. so try that. |

You can just use a solid 2x8 and it'll be fine. I built a flatbar without any topping and it worked wonders
PVC works too _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/nizzate/ |

most fun and easiest to make rail EVER
just pound a few pilings in the ground (# depends on how long u want it), measure cut the pvc, cut out squares to fit the pvc right over the pilings, and you got a perfect rail.
ITs so freakin fun, slides SO nice and is SOOOO sturdy.
closer look at the rail:
hope this gives you some ideas. |
