i'd see how much it'd cost to get one sent to you, it might be cheaper than you think....figured 600 for the boat another 300 for delivery...interweb search for cajunoutboards.com

drill it.
jesus you kids are thinkin way to hard, get a damn boat, cheapest you can, find a place to put a rope on it, learn how to get up behind a low hp motor (hint its not power but fines it with your weight on your toes) and then learn the lil wake and shred it
thats what a lemonscraft jonboat is, not some super planned well put together after months of research, but some cheap piece that you grow to love and respect after puttin in the work

BryceBell, here is a previous post on how someone did it -
I drilled the holes on the original Lemonscraft.
Set your tower in position on the boat and drill the back two holes first.
I drilled into the boat where the aluminum was the thickest, on the top wall where it is at least twice the thickness of the sides.
Once the back two bolts are in, see where the tower front naturally falls then drill those holes in the thickest part as well.
After three summers, the tower hasnt caused any creases, tears or warps near the bolt holes.
Good luck.
P.S. A tower on a jon boat/bateau is the most unnecessary item in the world. The tower is worth more than the boat. What started out as a joke has now become history.

haha - after my latest "lemonscraft" fiasco (didn't realize the river was so shallow and knocked my motor totally off the boat into the water - took me three days to find it!) i've decided i need to increase the chance of disaster and i'm seriously considering putting a wooden 4x4 tower on it. that'd at least be entertaining!!!

If you're serious, please post pics/video of self destruction when you test your wooden tower.
WOW this is going to be good.
Congrats on finding your motor though.
For future use in shallow water, I'd recommend this:
Happy trails and I hope you don't win a Darwin award.

Found a 15 foot flat bottom with a 25hp yamaha w/ a trailer for $1,600.
Seems like a pretty good deal to me! The killer is a tower, but I'm thinking I could make one or give it some time to get some money together.

I have a friend with i think it is a 18ft flatbottom with a 35hp merc. She said she would sell it too me, but it is a riveted boat. Is it strong enough for a tower? or not. Its a really nice boat her husband made it and took great care of it, but he died a couple years ago so it just sits at their river house. I got it running last weeknd and it ran great.

Okay. can i just tie the rope to the two handles in the back, and then put a floaty on the rope so it does not sink? or will those handles break?

towers are overrated lol your buyin a boat for 1200 and spending 1600 on a tower....
just find a spot to tie a rope put enuff knots in it that it'll stay and shred that thing
