theres no such thing as a wakeskate shoe, any will do, again this is preference but i prefer shoes with a thinner sidewall than those with the thick bushy ones, they seem like they hold less water
alot of people love the Nike 6.0 Brata, right now I'm riding a pair of $20 supras i got off whiskeymiltia.com
hope this helps out enjoy the water regardless:) |

just try to find a shoe that you think wont hold water too much. My buddies and I all have Globe skateboard shoes.. I forget what the model or type is called but they are like mesh on the sides so the water drains well.
I hope that helps |

of all the diff shoes i've worn i really enjoyed the braata. i also really like the byerly 3's. just think about what you like for skating and if it's not some super thick tongue, sueded out thing go for it. _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be. i like the walmart slip-ons. I like vulcanized soles, they have more board feel and i like shoes with out a lot of padding. _________________ l_o/------------------------<l |

JVR09, Not to be rude, I'm stoked you're getting in to the sport, but try using the 'search' button at the top of the page.
There's TONS of information on this site that has been collected over the years about everything from wakeskate types, to shoes, to riding with or without fins, etc.
As far as shoes go, I used old skate shoes until I could afford to get myself some wakeskate specific shoes. The only real difference is that wakeskate shoes are designed to not take on as much water as skate shoes. |

I like my vans. I think canvas shoes give you a better feel of the board. _________________ My life's a constant work in progress and I wouldn't have it any other way! |

I know that, thanks for the tip, but I think everyone likes to share there opinion and this is a good way to start a topic that maybe has been a little bit forgotten. Although I've searched think maybe the forum should have some "basics" section or something like that because there is a lot of people interested in the sport like me and don't know about it so I try to ask about basics to help those people too. Maybe I'm too lazy to start searching everything but that's my opinion. P.D.*Scuse my english if is not well written or so clear, I'm not a native speaker* |

the other thing is some of this stuff changes every year, like what shoes are coming out and things like that. that's why I don't necessarily think it's bad to ask these questions. Board options change, shoe options change...
but really with shoes, you can ride whatever you want. I've used normal skate shoes and I've used a bunch of the wakeskate edition DVS shoes and I don't really have any complaints about any of them. I like to try and dry my shoes in front of a fan so they don't start stinking as much...beyond that, I don't really care if a shoe is vulcanized or not...whatever. Some people don't like mesh, some don't mind it, some people don't want heavy shoes, some do, blah blah blah. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

sarcastically you could just switch to foam and go barefoot. otherwise get something you think will be water friendly, and if possible from a company who supports wakeskating. _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be.
