What part? I've been to Cebu, Bantayan, Bohol. I love it over there...thats where i met my wifey. It's definitely a 3rd world country, very similar to Mexico. Just don't flash any money and don't fall for any scams. And if you take any taxis, the first thing to ask or insist is that the meter works and is on...otherwise they'll run you around adding up the miles, then try and charge you what they want.
Also be sure your cash is clean and neat with not alot of crinkles or tears. The money changers usually won't take dirty lookin bills for conversion to pesos.
Make sure the water you drink is bottled, and check the tops to make sure their sealed before you drink, as some will just add tap water and sell them.
Be VERY picky about the meat you eat there, as refrigeration and cleanliness for meat products is not a priority for them.
And MOST OF ALL...take a good supply of travel toilet paper! Carry that shizzle with you everywhere, cause i'm convinced that there is NO TP ANYWHERE in the Philippines!
I'd also take some medicine in case you get the runs. Have fun and try not and fall in love with the ladies...there's so many sweeties over there, and they're old-school, take-care-of-my-man style! Very Happy

Oh yeah, and if you get a chance, take a bunch of 20 peso bills and hit up a chicken fight. You can bet all day long and if you lose it's not a big deal...and the action is sick! Those birds get down, and the crowd goes F'n nuts!
