I have crazy fond memories from this site and the ones before it, and the people I've met along the way. I'm too nostalgic for my own good, but those memories are some of my favorites, and yes, I do hold on to that past...

nick What do you get a five year old on his birthday Question

It has been incredible watching wakeskating.com'ers progress wakeskating. So many of you dudes rip! Many of you documented your progression through posts/pics & vids and that was so fun to watch. And then there are the people that all of a sudden post a vid and just rip. Those are especially fun...the person that stands out to me is benwecametowakeskate. He posted his OakVid with the Wolf Parade song maybe two years ago and I remember thinking, backflip Shocked

I love this site, makes me feel like I'm so much closer to the action. Not just on the computer, even when I'm out wakeskating on my own lake up here.
It is also totally awesome to have somewhere like this to share w/ each other just what's happening in all parts of the world on wakeskates. Wakeskating is going to continue popping up from all ends of the earth until there are wakeskaters everywhere. I'm excited to see how different cultures will influence/create different styles & different ways of going about doing what is our passion.

i haven't had internet for the past few months and only get to check stuff out occasionally. it's actually kinda freeing once you get over the lack of endless information, especially once you realize it's all out there somewhere.

that being said, even though i never really post here much or anything, this is one of the few things on the internet that i miss. such a great site.

The forums have certainly slowed down with the rapid growth of social media & other electronic adaptations of the wakeskating world, but I'll never forget what this place used to mean to me as a kid, and where that's lead me over the past decade. I live the most incredible life I ever could have imagined & the forums played a crucial role in my early growth in wakeskating. I learned everything from trick names, sport history, ideals of style, industry happenings, how rad most wakeskaters are, how to edit videos, what the hell rockers & concaves are, all the way to learning how to argue properly... Without wakeskating.com I would certainly not be living the dream that I'm in right now. This week I find myself shredding the drops at CWC in the Philippines with a team of legends. One epic adventure on top of the hundreds of once-in-a-lifetime trips & experiences I've had through wakeskating.

I am sure glad you're experiencing such great success nick! In turn, you've become one of my favorite riders to watch and you keep me inspiried, and keep me pushing to do things my absolute best when i'm on my wakeskate. On top of that, you're an outstanding radical human!

So thank you for being here, being the person you are, for contributing massively, and putting up with my attitude as a youth. It's been amazing to see you progress and you've kept everyone here involved or engaged at nearly every turn.
