Here's some more information with problems I've had along the way so far, if you're interested:

I'm about to take her out for a test drive. Didn't have enough power before, but now I've got the TAV on it. Any predictions? I'll let everyone know how she does this afternoon.

Um, can I ask why the drive sprocket on the clutch is on the outside? It should be between the backplate and belt pulley. Looks like a possible chain jumping situation, just my thoughts.

It's a poor man's frame. You guys are just jealous. Anyway I've seen a lot worse. Before buying the TAV, my total expenses were about $75.

I would recommend an eyelet or something to guide the rope.

It's definitely not a looker by any means, but if it works- why not?

I am planning to build my own, on this winch the rope comes off the bottom, I would think the rope would do better coming off the top? Just asking. Crazy Eyes

your motor is facing the wrong way. Rotate the TAV and turn your motor around.

Got a new 6.5 horse motor and some paint. I think the governor springs were wrong or something on my other engine this one has much more power and easily deep water starts. My bud just did major damage during the last test run, so now I'm trying a new hub and 60 tooth sprocket instead of a 72.

I don't see what difference it makes which way your motor is facing or which direction the rope feeds.

spooling from the bottom might actually be better. the winch won't tip as easy if you forget to tie it down - lol
